INTERVIEW COACHING |
||
|
||
Making a good impression at an interview is far more than answering the recruiter's questions; its about presenting the real you and particularly your competencies, personal qualities and style. In other words your "fit" for the job and the organisation. Successful applicants are the ones that interview well, not necessarily the ones with the best skill sets, experiences and achievements. The Interview Coaching sessions are conducted informally on a 1:1 basis to ensure that you interview well; they are tailored to individual requirements but typically cover:
-
Preparing to meet the interviewer, agency / employer / 1st / 2nd / telephone interviews / interview panels, clarity in the message you want to deliver, how to use your CV, how to handle the first crucial 5 minutes of the meeting
-
Developing and displaying "quiet" confidence; body language, presentation techniques; how to get your style across
-
How to answer questions that deliver the points that you want registered; how to handle awkward questions
-
Identification of likely questions based on your CV and the type of role / organisation to which you are applying, rehearsal of answers
-
Searching questions for the interviewer; how to make the interview a discussion rather than a series of Questions & Answers
-
Interview rehearsal
-
Debrief after interview, lessons learned, making any necessary modifications
We are happy to handle specific topics as above or otherwise in a single session for those with experience of being interviewed or concentrate on the most important topics within a specified number of sessions. We prefer, however to discuss individual requirements and make a proposal of what is required to ensure that you interview well. We find 3 sessions are the norm which for a £35,000 pa salary equates to less than 4% investment. Sessions are normally 1 to 1.5 hours in length and can be held at our regional offices, your home or other convenient location.
